応募があって作品に関するやり取りをするも、言葉の壁なのか、こちらの理解不足なのか、作品のイメージが出来ず、スペインから届くまで正直なところ不安が残っていました。
壁の、置きの設営は今年はどうしようというときに、この作品の大きなサイズと中くらいのものを広げてみました。
手帳、いや御朱印帳のようであるも、紙の継ぎ目もなく水墨画のような柔らかな木々が描かれています。これを二種類重ねてみて、ハッと小さな感動がありました。
蛇腹の前に出す部分、横に向ける部分により、森や林の表情がどんどん変わるのです。自分の感性で完成するアート作品。

Although we had received an application and exchanged messages about the artwork, we struggled to fully grasp its image—perhaps due to the language barrier or our own lack of understanding. To be honest, we remained somewhat anxious until the piece arrived from Spain.
As we considered this year’s display, debating between wall-mounted and freestanding arrangements, we decided to lay out both the large and medium-sized versions of the work.
At first glance, it resembled a planner—or perhaps a goshuin stamp book—yet the seamless pages revealed delicate ink-wash-like trees flowing across them. When we layered the two pieces together, there was a brief yet profound moment of realization.
By adjusting the accordion folds—some extending forward, others turned sideways—the forest transformed before our eyes. This was an artwork that came to life through the viewer’s own sensibility.
