Aoki's works are composed of a mysterious shape and process of cutting cast-molded vessels into pieces and joining them back together again by applying the same mud plaster used for the vessels to the joints in granular form." Itchin" is one of the decorative techniques known as slipware. The combination of this technique and casting molding is characteristic of his work. In his case, the "Itchin" (slipware) also plays the role of molding.
We hope you will enjoy his works, which are not only delicate, at the TAKARAMONO exhibition.
